On Saturday 12 April the Whakatane & District Historical Society contributed to the “fun of the fair” at the FARMING like Grandad event organised by the Waterwheel Historic Trust based in Kawerau.
It was held at recently established Te Teko Racecourse Park The Historical Society provided Picnic Day races like grandma used to have in bygone days. There was much laughter and smiles all round as children and adults alike enjoyed the challenge of Skipping, Egg and Spoon and Sack races.
